STANDARDBRED BREEDERS OF ONTARIO ASSOCIATION
The SBOA Mentor's Program began in 2005 and has seen much success. Here are some 2017 facts:
- Mentor is Tammy McNiven and the trainer Blake Macintosh.
- Each share (10 in total) will sell for $4,500 raising $45,000.
- The SBOA will provide a $15,000 foregivable loan for a total $60,000 pooled.
- The stable will own 1/3 of three Ontario sired yearlings.
- The pooled funds will be sufficient to cover the cost of training and stake payments for the horses for the first year.
- Horses will be sold after their 4 year old year at the latest.
- Drone videos of the yearlings will be done approximately every 3 weeks

farm visit - october 21, 2017
It was a beautiful October morning for the partners of the 2017-2018 SBOA Mentor Group to meet for the first time and inspect three potential yearlings that were purchased by our trainer Blake MacIntosh. We look forward to the Harrisburg sale in November for any other potential additions to our stable for the year. Thanks to the welcoming staff and mentor Tammy McNiven for coordinating. Went with the three sboa horses today was very impressed with the progress white face has made has a nice gate Eric and the grey are naturals they will all have hobbles on tomorrow

Record Year trained in 2:55 this morning and has really come around and looks great out there - Blake is very pleased with him.
Giverherngogo went in 2:54 today. She is a nice filly doing it all right now and is really figuring things out.
Sports Jet Ray went in 2:55 and can be a bit of a handful as she wants to go a little more than she needs to at this point but is learning.

Gogo trained in 2:44 - Blake said she was good and he is very pleased with her progress

BABY QUALIFIERS - JUNE 9, 2018
The horses continued to train down throughout the long hard winter we had this year. On what was forecast to be a rainy day, which turned out to be a warm overcast day, 84 two year olds were entered to qualify for the first time. To get around the track without incident is a good day. Record Year finished in 1:59 well within the qualifying time of 2:01 for two year olds at Mohawk. Sportjet Ray was parked out the first quarter mile (by no ones fault) which is a hard lesson at such a young inexperienced age. She cut the mile until she expectedly faded to a 2:01.3 finish which is still respectable given the mile. Giverherngogo has not grown much. She raced her mile, following along finishing in 2:01.3. They will all be back to qualify.
