OAS 2021 IN 2022 AS IT HAPPENS......
PERSONAL BESTS - JULY 2022 - We had a GREAT week!! Two year old filly Hurrikane MsRodine started it out with a 1:56.3 finish in the OSS Grassroots, her first charted line after a qualifier. Twin B Jammer finished in 1:52.0 from post position 9, in his OSS Grassroots, a time that was faster than the winners of any of the other three divisions. Twin B Rise N Shine continued to improve in his 2 year old OSS Gold for colts and geldings with a best time of 1:52.4. He Bee Sunny would have achieved the same Personal Best glory if he had not been interfered with in the stretch drive. With a little bit of racing luck, this should only get better.
TWIN B JAMMER - June 2022 - Jammer broke his maiden in style pulling away to win in 1:53 on a sloppy track.
HE BEE SUNNY MAIDEN WIN - May 2022 - In April, after having to be laid off after a great start to his 2 year old year due to an injury, Sunny entered his 3 year old campaign finishing in 1:53.3 to break his maiden at Mohawk. He also had a second place finish in the month.
May brought another second at Mohawk and a race that did not go his way but he still came his last 1/4 in 26.2 so something to be proud of.
THE YEAR IN REVIEW
TWIN B FABULOUOS IS FABULOUS!!!! - January 2022 - Fab made it 2 in a row at Flamboro Downs with a trip more impressive than her last few. We are so proud of her!! Great work to the team Trainer Francis Dumouchel, Assistant Trainer Maddi Henry, Driver Travis Henry and our awesome "Lucky Groom" Jenna McNiven. Fabulous has made a cold dark January just a little Fabulous!!
WINDY REPORT / TWIN B FABULOUS - January 2022 - Windy Report's career has just started and she has two seconds and a third in her first three starts at Woodbine Mohawk Park. Twin B Fabulous has the same record in four starts at The Raceway - Western Fair District (shown to the left).
OAS 2021 IS 5 FOR 5!!! - December 2021 - Windy Report and Twin B Fabulous have been together since they came into the barn as yearlings. They trained together, were turned out together during the summer of 2021 and trained back down together. This week, almost a year to the date the photo on the right was taken of the pair, they had their first lifetime starts. Twin B Fabulous finished third in her race at The Raceway - Western Fair District and Windy Report finished a hard closing second at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
ALL FIVE OAS 2021 YEARLINGS HAVE NOW RACED AND FINISHED IN THE TOP THREE!!
This is quite an accomplishment for Francis Dumouchel (trainer), Maddi Henry (assistant trainer), Travis Henry (driver) and the rest of the farm support!! Congratulations all!!

LUCA TO THE GOLD SUPER FINALS - October 2021 - What a ride and a rush this year has been watching the yearlings develop into racehorses and stake horses. Lucky groom Jenna McNiven had Luca ready to go for the final Ontario Sires Stakes Gold race of the season. Luca Hanover finished second to the Twinbrook Farms homebred that Jenna cared for as a foal and yearling, Twin B Archie. We are proud of Luca who was second to Archie who set the new track record for Flamboro Downs on an off track. Great accomplishments to both horses and Jenna who has a direct connection to both. See you at the Gold Super Finals later this month - fingers crossed as always.
TWIN B JAMMER TO THE GRASSROOT FINALS - September 2021 - The final Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots race for 2 year old pacing colts was lead by Twin B Jammer who was notched at the wire to finish a strong second. This was enough to secure him a spot in the Grassroots Finals at Woodbine Mohawk. Congratulations to our partners, trainer and support staff who maintained and cared for our horses so well throughout the year that they are still in competitive form at the end of the season.
PLACE MONEY THIS WEEK - August 2021 - The week started off with Twin B Jammer finishing second in his OSS Grassroots for 2 year old pacing colts and geldings, race timed in 1:54. The week ended with Luca Hanover also finished second in his OSS Gold race finishing in 1:56.4 for 2 year old trotting colts and geldings. Mid week stablemate Twin B Hugs also picked up show money.
LUCA HANOVER SHOW MONEY IN THE OSS GOLD - July 2021 - Luca put in a solid 3rd place finish in his first Ontario Sires Stakes Gold race for 2 year old trotting colts. Coming off a win in the Grassroots, he deserved a chance to move up to the Golds and he did not disappoint. We look forward to seeing what August brings for one of our barn favourites. (OAS2021)
LUCA HANOVER 2 FOR 2 - July 2021 - We knew he was a nice horse and he won his first start but you cannot guarantee the right trip from the rail at Mohawk. Bob McClure and Luca seemed to have connected and they were magic in Luca's first stake race. He trotted his OSS Grassroots mile in 1:57.3 Congratulations to Francis, Maddi, Bob and our lucky groom Jenna. You can watch the race here (60) Mohawk, Sbred, July 15, 2021 Race 3 - YouTube (OAS2021)
TWIN B JAMMER GRASSROOTS FINISH - July 2021 - Twin B Jammer went off at 44-1 in the first 2 year old Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots race of the season. He only had one qualifying line in before the race and the odds were fair. He thought otherwise. Leaving from what seemed like the parking lot, he found his mojo coming home in 26.4 to finish 4th. We will take it!! Watch the race, especially the stretch drive here (43) Mohawk, Sbred, July 9, 2021 Race 1 - YouTube (OAS2021)
LUCA FOR THE WIN!!! - July 2021 - The excitement and good fortunate continued for OAS 2021, our partners and training team this week. Luca Hanover won his first race for 2 year old trotters at Woodbine Mohawk Park. He showed gate speed, sat on the rail, was shuffled back and parked but Bob McClure managed to find his some air in the stretch and he powered home for the win. GOLD SHOW - JULY 2021 - We could not have been more excited to have our first two year old entered to race and it happened to be in an Ontario Sires Stakes Gold race. The OAS2021 ownership group would like to thank our trainer Francis Dumouchel and Maddi Henry for their hard work with all of our horses to bring them along.
He Bee Sunny finished third in his Ontario Sires Stakes Gold race at Woodbine Mohawk Park. It was a learning experience for all and his next start is highly anticipated. (July 3, 2021 - OAS2021)
SUNNY GOES FOR GOLD - We cannot be more excited to have our first two year old entered to race and it happens to be in an Ontario Sires Stakes Gold race. The OAS2021 ownership group would like to thank our trainer Francis Dumouchel and Maddi Henry for their hard work with all of our horses to bring them along.

QUALIFIERS - June 26, 2021 - He Bee Sunny was in the 3rd qualifier leaving from post 7. He showed he has heart and and is tactful. He was parked out to the 1/4 pole having to surge ahead to take the lead. He then relinquished the lead and sat in the pocket. When they came to the stretch, out he came to battle hard to finish in front in 1:55.3. Next steps - he is headed to the OSS Gold on Saturday July 3rd at Mohawk!!
Luca Hanover was in the 10th qualifier leaving from post 6. He was hard charging off the gate but tucked into the pocket. As they came around the final turn James was visibly looking for room but did not have any with the horse advancing on the outside staying close to the leader. With 1/8 of a mile to go, he squeezed down the rail to make up ground and finish just shy at the wire. The COSA TV commentators noted how professional the three colts across at the wire behaved most notably the winner sandwiched in the middle and Luca who squeezed up the rail making up so much ground.
June 19, 2021 - Luca Hanover and He Bee Sunny experienced their first qualifier to start their career. Driven by James Macdonald, Luca is a trotter and was in his first qualifier. He got away comfortably, was 8 lengths back at the 1/4 and slowly made up ground to finish 1 3/4 off to top finishers, two of which were qualifying for the first time.
The star of the day was He Bee Sunny. Sunny was also driven by James, getting away from the gate 3rd, stalking the front action the entire mile. He came home the fastest quarter in his race in 27.2 to finish 1/2 a length behind a second time qualifier, finishing in 1:56.4 with "gas still in the tank".

TRAINER
Francis Dumouchel is the trainer of the OAS2021and OAS2022 shared standardbred ownership groups.
Francis has worked with standardbreds for 16 years. His early years were spent with Gerard (Gerry) Demers. He has worked with Tony Alagna, Luc Blais and for the most recent 5 years with Blake Macintosh.
Francis is a rising star. He has seen success with Sunshine Beach filly, Twin B Sunkissed in the Ontario Sires Stakes Gold series, Champlain, Eternal Camnation, She's A Great Lady stakes and Simcoe stakes. Francis shares ownership in the filly with his partners who also own interests in the OAS horses.
2021 was an exceptional year for Francis along with assistant trainer Maddi Henry and local driver Travis Henry who share ownership in several of the OAS horses. Each of the yearlings purchased in the fall of 2020 qualified, raced and finished in the top three during their 2 year old year.
We look forward to the upcoming year as the OAS2021 horses race as 3 year olds and the three OAS2022 horses try to keep the pace with the OAS2021 group.

MEET THE FACILITATOR
The facilitator of the group is Jackie McManus, a long time standardbred enthusiast, owner and photographer.
She developed the vision for Own A Standardbred from her experiences in other ownership groups she has participated in (or continues to be a member of) including SBOA Mentor, Landmark, theStable and private shared ownership.
She looks to combine the most appreciated aspects of all other fractional ownership groups into a new cost effective structure that appeals to a new or wider participant base.
Her role in the first year of this fractional ownership structure was busy and fulfilling. Jackie will be the main source of the information flow to the group which will include her responsibility as website developer, photographer and videographer (a new skill she is yet to master). As a professional accountant by trade, she will also be providing monthly statements of accounts to the group so they are well informed with timely information.
She would like to see others develop their own fractional ownership groups to help the viability of their stable and the industry. There is not a "one size fits all" formula to fractional ownership and OwnAStandardbred.com is one that promises to be "Just A Little Different From Everyone Else" For complete details, please visit the FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.
