LANDMARK RACING STABLE
Landmark Racing Stable is a fractional ownership group that began in 2005 from a group of individuals who had participated in the SBOA Mentor Program the previous year.
Landmark is now going into it's 12th year, and again Brooks Feeds has donated a share in Landmark 12 where all share holders being eligible and we have had a another share donated but the rules will be different and announced soon. Download information - LANDMARK 12 DETAILS Landmark 11 currently owns 1/3 of each of the five (5) very impressive yearlings shown below. There were 118 shares sold in 2017 to 74 individuals who reside in four (4) different provinces and four (4) states in the US. The structure of the group is enticing to those who want a fixed cost investment. The initial cost per share of $2,000 will cover the purchase of yearlings (in 2017 there are four) and all training and stake payments for the first year. Purse money won in a horse's 2 year old year is held to cover the costs of the 3 year old year. In the 10 years Landmark has existed, it is impressive to note that there has never been an occassion when additional funds were required for the stables 3 year olds. |

COMMENTARY
2017 - november 18 - and it begins
All four of our horses are doing well. The first three purchased are now on joggers going 4-5 laps a day and Rap Royalty (purchased in Harrisburg) is almost ready for the jogger.
2017 - november 27 - fab four + one makes fantastic five
So we now own 33.3% of 5 very nice yearlings and of course I am biased but I think we have 5 good ones. They have the breeding and the conformation so now let's hope they have heart and talent. Time will tell.
2017 - december 10 - ocd in horses is not what you think
From Howard - Mark has a total of 26 yearlings including our 5 and they have ALL now received a thorough vet check including ultra sound and x-rays. Several will require minor surgery to remove OCD's (bone chips) including our Dare To Share who has several in his ankles. This is fairly routine surgery and will take place at the Milton Equine Hospital next week. They may miss a few weeks of jogging but Mark believes it is far better to have this surgery at this point in their careers rather than when they get close to racing so their final training is not interrupted.
Other than that all is well. They are now jogging up to 6 laps a day depending on weather and are looking good on the track.

2018 - january 7 - CANADIAN WINTERS AND TRAINING HORSES
There was an unusally long cold spell this year. Howard reported that "Our horses continue to be right on track (pardon the pun) and have not been punished in any way by the severe weather. When the conditions are brutally cold and or the track is snow covered they are given the day off or do laps in Mark's indoor exerciser which can accommodate 6 horses at a time."
2018 - February 9 - winter update
This is a very slow time in the progress of 2 year olds schedule. This is the time of year when they jog many, many miles but it is too soon to 'turn' them and go training miles. I can tell you that this is a very 'pivotal' week because Mark has to decide which stake races to keep 2 year olds eligible for and those payments have to made Feb 15th,except the OSS which is March 15. In our case he wants to keep all of our Fab Five eligible for many of the key "Grand Circuit' races. In other words he is very optimistic about these 2 year olds. However, the worse thing to do is 'overstate' their abilities so let's just call it 'cautious optimism'.

2018 - MARCH TURNS INTO APRIL
Update from Howard on April 1st (and I don't think it is an April Fool's joke:)
LandMark 11 owns 5 very nice two year olds and all are happy and healthy and training well. As those of you who have been to Lansdowne will attest they are 5 very nice horses. I was there on Friday after not seeing them for 10 weeks and was very impressed with their growth and physical attributes. There training will get serious now that track conditions and weather has turned for the better.
